| When you are ready to graduate from SIUC, there are two things you must do. You must have a GRADUATION CLEARANCE APPOINTMENT with your College of Science advisor the semester before you graduate, and you must APPLY FOR GRADUATION at the Records Office by the end of the first week of the semester you are graduating. |  |

During the second or third week of the semester prior to your last semester, make an appointment in the College of Science Advisement Office, Neckers A185. Tell the appointment secretary that you will be graduating next semester. This allows us time to double check all of your records, catch any possible problems, correct any errors in your records, and fill out all the paper work you will need. | |
When you come to your graduation clearance appointment, we will:
- Review all your records with you.
- List all the courses still needing to be completed prior to graduation.
- Fill out a Major Check form which will be sent to your major department for approval.
- Fill out a Graduation Clearance form which will be sent to the Records Office.
- Give you a Graduation Application which you will fill out and return to the Records Office.
You cannot graduate without all the proper paper work. Initiating the process the semester before your last semester gives you time to correct any potential problems before they arise.
