Apparatus

  • Standard? Cite the reference
  • If the apparatus or equipment you used is standard equipment, cite the reference. For example, "Forty Tomahawk® (Tomahawk Live Trap, Tomahawk, Wisconsin) live traps (48 x 16.5 x 16.5 cm) were set and baited with cracked corn and sunflower seeds."
  • Original? Label diagram, schematic, or digital photo
  • If your experimental equipment is something original, a labeled diagram, schematic, or digital photo is imperative. Inclusion of this will enhance your paper's readability by allowing the reader to reference your drawing or photo.

Would you need to include a photo of fingerprinting? No. Do you need a photo of a device you have designed? By all means, yes.
