Each Spring, the Mathematics Department sponsors a mathematics contest, called Math Field Day, for regional high school students.
Expanding your horizons (EYH)

Expanding your Horizons (EYH) in Math and Science is an all-day Saturday conference for girls in 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades.
The conference consists of hands-on workshops in a variety of subjects led by professionals working in the sciences.
Concurrent workshops are offered for parents, teachers, and counselors to assist them in guiding girls in career choices.

and Humanities Symposium - IJSHS
The primary aims of IJSHS are to promote research and experimentation in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics at the high school level, and to publicly recognize students for outstanding achievement and effort.
Bryophytes
"Bryophytes" is a resource devoted to Bryology, the branch of plant science concerned with the study of mosses, liverworts and hornworts.
Ethnobotanical Leaflets

Manuscripts dealing in research in all fields of ethnobotany, in any reasonable length, biographical sketches, and critical reviews and summaries of literature will be considered for web publication. Casual notes and floristic lists will also be considered if the main focus falls on plant species of economic interest.

Mass Spec Facility

The Facility owns and operates several high-performance mass spectrometers to support basic research efforts throughout Southern Illinois University.  The Facility offers training for independent operation of instruments as well as sample analysis by Facility personnel.  The Facility’s services are also open to external academic institutions and industry.
