Trachea and esophagus, unspecified source.

This specimen includes cross sections of both trachea (round lumen, cartilage in wall) and esophagus (irregular shape to lumen, muscular wall).  Note several other distinct differences between these two "tubes", related to their separate functions.

A small lymph node is included in the specimen in Boxes 3, 5, 7; a carotid body is included in Boxes 1, 3, 6, 9.
