The laboratory of parasitology in SIU has the following goals:
i) To study the evolutionary mechanisms that shaped parasite-mammal associations; ii) to describe, inventory and document the diversity of parasites occurring in the New World; iii) to understand the distribution of species of parasites across space and their presence in different hosts, and iv) to promote research and provide education in parasitology.
