TUESDAY and THURSDAY
Primary objective: Review all slides. (The final lab practical is next week!)
After fourteen weeks of histology laboratories, you have developed a much more highly practiced "eye" for seeing tissues than you had at the beginning of the course. Now is a good time to revisit slides you haven't looked at for several weeks (and also your notebook entries for those "long ago" weeks. You may be surprised to find how much more you can see when you look again at these slides.
Secondary objective: Examine a few new slides.
- Eyelid: slide 11.
- Soft palate: slide 12.
- Mouse tail: slide 19.
On these slides you should be able to discover a variety of tissues -- epithelium, connective tissue, muscle, nerves, glands, bone, blood vessels, and more. See how many different tissue types and structures you can identify! Enjoy!
