Dr. Eugene A. LeFebvre is Professor Emeritus of Zoology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he taught ecology, physiological ecology, and other courses from 1966-1992. He obtained his Bachelor's (1952), Master's (1958), and Ph.D. (1962) degrees from the University of Minnesota. From 1954-56, he served in the U.S. Army. His professional specialization was physiological vertebrate ecology with special interest in bioenergetics of birds in relation to ecologic and behavioral adaptations, flight, and migration. He retired from SIUC in 1992 and has faithfully been providing care for family members afflicted with Alzheimer's. He and his wife Mary presently reside near Sullivan, Illinois; they proudly raised two children.
