  • Train travel: Amtrak provides rail services out of its Chicago hub
  • Bus travel: Greyhound offers bus service in and out of town.
  • BART (Bootheel Area Rapid Transit) is a shuttle service traveling between Lambert International Airport in St. Louis, Missouri (120 miles northwest of Carbondale - approximately 2 and 1/2 hours away) and the Southern Illinois region.
